Cross Country Trip 2007 - This requires a little explanation, I think...

My father was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis early in 2007. He insisted that he was going to make the trip to NY to visit my brother and his family ONE MORE TIME (he'd made the trip almost 20 years in a row). My brother flew his oldest son, Matthew, out to ride with Dad and help him out. They had a wonderful trip from Phoenix to Plattsburgh. Whenever Dad would call me he would go on and on about what a help and a joy it was to have Matthew with him. I think the trip was good for both of them and they arrived there safely. Dad liked to go with my brother Carl when he had work to do, as Dad did the same type of work when he was a young man. It gave them time to talk and catch up. One day my dad fell at a jobsite and wound up in the hospital where they discovered he had pneumonia as well as a messed up shoulder. The doctor would not let him drive the RV home, nor would he let him ride in the RV home. How do we get his RV (and his faithful companion, Boots) home then? Tom and I booked a red-eye flight out on a Friday night after work, stayed with Carl and family Saturday and Sunday, then started our road trip home in the RV on Monday. We arrived in Phoenix on Saturday, picked up dad at the airport on Sunday, and went back to work on Monday - WHAT A WHIRLWIND TOUR OF AMERICA THAT WAS! Here are some of the things we saw during the trip...
